We were so excited when Stampin’ Up! Released their Shimmery Crystal Effects (Item#150892) If you don’t know Crystal Effects adds dimension to craft projects. The Shimmery Crystal Effects can add dimension and add subtle sparkle to your projects with white and silver craft glitter flecks in the glossy lacquer. It’s really cool because the small thing tip makes it easy to outline stamped images or add detail. As you can see in the project this product may cause smearing when applied directly to ink. 
If you click on the photo above you’ll be able to see the flecks, and in this project the goal was to just have a subtle sparkle on the white card stock inside the heart. The other thing to note is that even though the Shimmery Crystal Effects went over the white heart it dries clear and doesn’t take away from the beauty of the card.
Here is a TIP – the Shimmery flecks display better on darker colored paper.
Ways to apply the Shimmery Crystal Effects:
- Using the small tip you can outline a stamped image.
- Using the small tip you can add detail to small and/or large areas to have a raised shimmery surface – requires overnight drying time and when applied thickly will give a 3-D effect.
- Use a small amount in the area you want and use your index finger (inside a glove) to spread out the mixture evenly. Be sure to avoid inked edges as it may cause smearing.
