stained glass, sympathy

The death of a best friend is never easy. The card above is for my sister and brother in law who just had their dog Roscoe die at the age of 14.  It was heartbreaking to them and my heart goes out to them.  For many people the loss of a furry best friend can be devastating and very painful.   If you are a pet lover chances are you have experienced the loss of a furry best friend. One way to let someone who just lost a pet know that you share in their sorrow is to send a sympathy card.  For some of us our furry friends are like family and when they cross over to the rainbow bridge  it leaves an empty spot in their heart.

Especially today we should never underestimate the power of a handmade card.  Handmade cards bring  joy and in this case comfort, to the person who receives it.  Sometimes it is uncomfortable when we send out a sympathy card for a pet or for someone who has lost a parent, sibling, or family member.  I’ve found saying words that come from your heart is best but if you need help getting started or just need some ideas for sympathetic words of condolence and sympathy  for the loss of a pet click here.

To create the card above I used the Happy Tails stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  I also used our Stampin’ Blends and the Graceful Glass 6 X 6 Designer Vellum. The Graceful Glass Designer Vellum, is so versatile and you can choose just one section or the whole thing to create a wonderful handmade project.  The colors I used in the project are Poppy Parade, Garden Green, Night of Navy and Whisper White.   I also used a VersaMark ink pad for the paw prints on the left side of the card.   CLICK HERE TO SHOP NOW.

Many of you know of  Zoe.  She  is 13 years old soon to be 14 in June.  She is a joy to me and my emotional support animal (along with her feline counterparts).  This silver nose beauty has been undergoing some medical issues lately and it’s very hard watching her decline.  Even with her decline she is always there for me right by my side.  She truly is woman’s best friend and spending time with her brings me such joy and peace.  I’m so blessed to have her with me.

If you have just experienced the loss of a pet or family member my deepest sympathy goes out to you as you go through the difficult transition.

If you should have any questions about how to create this card I’m happy to answer any questions you might have!    Thanks for stopping by!   Stay tuned tomorrow when we get really HOPPY!
