This DIY GIft Package with Metal Embellishment was created on the road while I was in New Orleans last week. When you challenge yourself out of your comfort zone, it's been my experience that growth is almost always a result. So join me as I teach you how you too can craft on the go and create your own DIY gift package with Metal Embellishments.
I was determined to challenge myself to create 5 projects for blog posts for this week. So Imagine my hubby's reaction when he saw a suitcase filled with Crating Materials! He was like "What, are you going away for a month?" Yes, you all mean that much to me that I paid an extra $35 luggage fee to challenge myself to craft on the road.
Now I love challenges and taking crafting items on the road was like navigating an open road without a map. Deciding what to bring was a big challenge cause I like to pack like the kitchen sink (LOL) and since I couldn't bring my entire craft room I brought what I feel are essentials. You might find these same things in the items you use when you pack them up for a Scrapbooking Weekend or Crop.
In my bag I packed:
- My Big Shot
- Magnetic Platform
- Framelits
- Craft Metal
- Ribbon
- Cardstock
- Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit
- Scissors
- Sticky Strip
- Snail Adhesive
- Balsa Wood
- Pre Die Cut Leaves
- Glue Gun
- Assorted Stampin' Write Markers
- Classic Ink
- Cherry Cobbler
- Always Artichoke
- Early Espresso
- Gumball Green
- Perfect Plum
- Wisteria Wonder
- Crystal Effects
- Embossing Folders
- Stamp Sets
- and actually much more.
Thankfully my room was very spacious, but since it was an older hotel the lighting was like that of romantic restaurant. The lighting was the biggest challenge. We really were lacking for light and did our best to move the lights around.
So the challenge was how to find a work space to accomodate the materials. So I asked the front desk if I could have a table sent up to my room and they accomodated me! SCORE! I was so happy it was perfect. I had some of my friends that attended the event join me and we decided to get crafty. You can see my friends here.
So suitcase got emptied onto the bed and then the supplies were organized by product. Then the Creative process began. My friend Monica had a notebook so we decided to wrap it with the Thanksgiving Tablescape paper that comes in that kit. Then we wrapped it with a bow using the 1 " Stitched Edge Grosgrain Cherry Cobbler Ribbon. Then it looked cute but felt it needed more so the craft metal snowflakes were added using the Festive Flurry Framelits with the Gold Craft Metal Sheets which were embossed with the Simply Baroque Embossing folder. Then adhered the Metal Sheets to the Gift with the glue gun and added a stamped element and the first project was completed!
Don't you just love the elegance the metal adds to the product? The sparkle and shine add instant joy like a sunny day! Incorporate craft metal sheets so you can create a DIY Gift Package with Metal Embellishments today!
