Embossed Vellum Technique

Have you ever thought of using Stampin' Ups! Vellum Cardstock for embossing? Todays technique will teach you how you can run the Vellum through the Big Shot in an Embossing Folder and make a pretty layer or focal point on a card, even without coloring (could be used for scrapbooking as well!) 

WHAT YOU NEED

• Stamps:
  • Varied Vases Photopolymer Stamp Set (145544)
• Ink:
  • Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin' Pad (147097)
• Paper (including cutting dimensions):
  • Coastal Cabana Cardstock (131297) 8 1/2" x 4 1/4", 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" (2 pieces)
  • Whisper White Cardstock (100730) 4" x 4", 3 1/2" x 3/4"
  • Vellum Cardstock (101856) 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
• Accessories:
  • Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (148048)
  • Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263)
  • Layering Circle Framelits Dies (141705)
  • Bermuda Bay 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon (146939) 5"
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755)
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Fold Coastal Cabana Cardstock in half to make the base of the square card.
2. Adhere Whisper White Cardstock layer on card base.
3. Emboss floral image on Vellum Cardstock with Big Shot and Lovely Floral Embossing Folder 
4. Die cut the circle in the center of the Coastal Cabana piece using the largest Layering Circle Die  See Picture below.
5. Run thin line of multipurpose glue around edges of back of embossed floral image (which will be covered by die cut piece, so you won't see glue) and adhere to Coastal Cabana layer.  Adhere this layer on top of Whisper White layer of card. 
6. Using Stampin' Dimensionals in the corners, adhere die cut piece over embossed vellum flower making sure to line up all the sides and corners. 
7. Stamp greeting from any set you choose on narrow strip of Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp in the center.
8. Tie ribbon around left side of greeting tag, and cut banner tail on right side if desired. 
9. Adhere greeting to front of card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

TIP:  When you are making this yourself, choose several colors of cardstock to layer under the vellum and see which one looks best to you.  Whisper White even works, if you like that.  It just depends on the look you want.
