Today I'm spotlighting a DIY Card Using the Ombre Technique and Craft Metal. The Ombré Technique is wildly popular with hair & fashion
so when the Dazzling Diva Challenge # 15 (which was the Ombré Technique) I just had to try it! I also entered this card to Crafting by Designs Anything with Wings Challenge as well!
The defination of Ombré means this:
- 1.(of a fabric) having a dyed, printed, or woven design in which the color is graduated from light to dark.
So Here is the Challenge Photo
See the beautiful shading in the inspiration photo? Don't you just LOVE IT?!!
The DIY Card I created using the Ombré Technique used two different types of shading. The first was using Brushed Gold Card Stock, Craft Metal and Summer Starfruit Card stock with Garden Green card stock layered on top. The Brushed Gold Card Stock and Summer Starfruit Card Stock create a nice shading effect.
Next were the flowers. It's hard to tell from the photograph but I had so much fun using markers to shade this embossed stencil from Dreamweavers. Using the Pearlesent Embossing Paste I let it dry then used my yellow markers, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and So Saffron and gently colored in the shading I wanted.
Doesn't that craft metal butterfly just make you want Spring even more than ever! The butterfly really gives it a nice pop don't you thing?
Have you tried your hand at the Ombré techniuqe? If not you will love it! It's fun to go on a creative discovery and see the different ways you can create an Ombré effect in your papercrafting! It really takes it up a notch and it's perfect if you are in a creative rut to use this technique to get your creative mojo going!
As a bonus this week we will be utilizing the Ombré technique including a video on how I created the card above. So stay tuned for the video on how to create this fun card later this week!
Pleasee leave a comment and you will be entered into a drawing to win this card! The drawing will take place on Friday March 14th and annouced on this website.
Don't forget to order your craft metal sheets as well!
