Vacation Bible School and tips for taking pictures with your cell phone is what today's post is all about.

If you are like me (and hundrends of thousands of other people) that take pictures with their phone you know you are not alone.  That is the beauty and positives of using your phone with My Digital Studio.

  1. We have our phone with us 24/7.
  2. Using our phone to take snap shots of our kids, friends and family is now second nature, just pure natural.
  3. Using our phone allows us freedom to caputre moments we would have missed using a traditional camera.
  4. Using our phones allows us same day access to the photos buy uploading them to the computer and then into our scrapbooks using My Digital Studio.

The downside or cons are:

  1. We tend to keep the photos on the computer and not into a scrapbook page
  2. Feel discouraged that the pictures don't turn out that great due to lighting issues, etc.
  3. Some cameras don't take as clear a picture.

Well here is the good news.  I have some tips for taking pictures with your cell phone.

  1. Know your phone.  If you are not sure how to take pictures meet with the store that sold you the phone (or if you have an iPhone make a Genius appointmnent at an apple store) and have them go through a tutorial on how to best use your phone for taking pictures.
  2. Consider taking pictures off center to provide interest
  3. Snap it when you can to capture that perfect moment, you can always crop undesirable stuff out of the picture.  If your phone allows for it you can crop on your phone, but if you don't have that feature you can use My Digital Studio to crop your photo as you put the photo into your scrapbook page.
    1. If your new to the word "Crop" it means to basically cut stuff out of a photograph.
  4. Keep your phone steady when taking a picture to reduce blurry pictures.
  5. Shoot pictures away from sunlight to reduce glare.
  6. If your phone doesn't take great pictures in the dark don't let that deter you.  You can use a photo editing program to lighten up the picture and make it look more normal.

Do you have any tips?   If so please feel free to share them in the comments section!

Vacation Bible School is a Summer Tradition, something I have looked forward too since my kids were little kids, I've even coordianted a bunch.   So throughout this week I have been documenting Vacation Bible School (and the other activities we do with Brayden while he "vacations" with us).  for Brayden.  I only wish I would have had My Digital Studio back when my kids attended Vacation Bible School.

It has been so FUN & EASY  doing this 8 x 8 book for Brayden.  At the end of the week I'll do final proofing and send it to Stampin' Ups' Professional Print serivce and he will have a little 8×8 scrap book that he can refer to to help him remember what he learned at Vacation Bible School.

My two kids are the really tall ones and they are volunteering their time to the Vacation Bible Camp (VBS).   The little guy is Brayden their cousin.  He is 7 and it's so fun to see Vacation Bible School through his eyes.  Brings back a lot of memories!Brayden vbs 2013-005
