Giggle Greetings

Giggle Greetings.   Doesn't the name Giggle Greetings just want to make you smile?    I love to send out Funny Cards!  When I saw this set I knew a lot of you would just love it so I just had to get it from the New Stampin' Up! annual Catalog!  

I have been busy making all sorts of different card versions with this set and today I'm going to show you one of my favorite designs.   Many people have asked me what my thought process is when I design a card.  Today I will walk you through that process in addition to a FREE Tutorial.

1. Think about what Type or Occasion card you want to do. i.e. Birthday, sympathy, funny, serious, whimsical, flowery, etc.
   
2. Select a stamp set.   I wanted an encouraging card so I picked this stamp from the Giggle Greetings stamp set because I wanted a funny card.
3. Next I looked at color schemes.  For the card below I chose something bright and cheery.  This card would be appropriate to send to someone who might be going through a hard time so keeping it bright and cheery will automatically send happy thoughts.
4. Then I decided what types of texture and embellishments to use on this card.

  • 3/8 " Taffetta Ribbon – White (Item #109070)
  • Snail Adhesive (Item #104332)

  • Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder (Item #129984)*Coordinates with Mosaic Madness Stamp Set and Quatrefancy Suite in the New Catalog. Pages 123 and 120-121.

 Instructions:

1. Cut your Coastal Cabana card stock to 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 and fold in half. (if you want to have a crisp fold use a bone folder. 
2. Next cut a sheet of Strawberry Slush Card stock to approximately 5  1/4 x 4
3. Then use the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  To use it open the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder and slip the Strawberry Slush card stock in-between it. 
4. Next run it through the big shot.  (You need a cutting plate on top and bottom along with multipurpose platform)
5. Now adhere it to the card using snail adhesive.
6. Next take the balsa wood and cut a 3 x 3 inch square with your paper cutter
7. Next swipe your Baked Brown Sugar Ink Pad across the Balsa Wood Until you achieve the coverage and color you desire.  Set aside to dry (you might want to wear gloves if you don't want inky hands)
8. Cut your Whisper White card stock to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4
9. Stamp your image with stazon ink
10. Water Color your image using the Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding ink pads and the Aqua Painter.
11. Now take your multipurpose liquid glue and put it on the back of the balsa wood and attach to the Strawberry Slush card stock.
12. Next take your multipurpose liquid glue and put it on the back of the whisper white card stock and attach to the balsa wood.
13. Next take your taffeta ribbon and tie a knot and attach to the bottom of the card
14. Your done 🙂
