Psalm 23 - DIY Handmade Card visit www.1stclasscreativity.com

Psalm 23 is often known for comfort.  Today, being a Sunday and all I thought I would share an inspirational card I created.  I originally designed this card for a friend that requested this verse.  She wanted to use it as a thank you for those who attended the funeral of her ex-husband.  With that in mind I decided a more masculine look would be key.  Using the Textured Woodgrain Embossing Folder (Item #127821) on page 33 of our Holiday Catalog, I took a sheet of Soft Suede, cut at 4  x 5 1/4 and placed it in the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot for the embossing to begin.  Then I used some retired Twine and wrapped it around the faux wood.  Next I took some Always Artichoke Card stock and roughed up the edges.  Always Artichoke was cut at approximately 3 x 3.  Then I typed up the 23 Psalm and printed it onto whisper white card stock.  Then I cut it out at approximately 2 3/4 x 2 3/4.  Then I sponged the edges with chocolate chip classic ink.   I then adhered all the layers together and placed them on whisper white card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 (to get these dimensions take a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of Whisper White card stock and lay it horizontally on the paper trimmer.  Place the edge at 5 1/2 and cut, that will create two 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cards.

After the layers were put on the whisper white card base I took my sponge and edged the corners.
